Princess Cut Diamond Rings

I just got Josie a princess-cut diamond ring and a gold wedding band and I have a reserved a table for two at the restuarant: Ristorante Linguina – the most expensive restaurant where I live for 8 tonight.

Here’s my proposal for Josie:

Josie, the 5 years we started dating, were the best years I’ve ever had with you. Now two years ago in 2004 when we first got engaged brought me to highest high that I’ve ever felt in my life. You are my best friend and gril in the whole world, i’ve never loved any other girl but you. We’re the most happiest when we’re together and laughing. I’m asking you Josie, the most important perosn and girl in my whole life, you are the whole that has compeleted me for 7 years. I’m asking you to make me the happiest man in the word tonight by answering me just one question: Josie, will you marry me?

What do you think of my proposal? I’m going to go down on one knee with the princess cut diamond ring behind my back and take it out as soon as I ask Josie.
I did it, we had dinner and while we were waiting for our meal I said my proposal to Josie. She said yes.

My girlfriend said that for her engagement ring she wants a yellow gold diamond wedding band style ring with princess cut diamonds in it and a plain band for the wedding ring.

Which is better?

My fiancee proposed to me about 3 months ago. He knew the general style I wanted and did a pretty good job. It is a princess cut diamond (about .33 carats) with 4 square side stones on each side, 1 carat total weight. I liked it for a while, but I have always wanted a solitaire ring. How much would it cost to put the center stone into another ring, and then turn the side stones into the wedding band?

i love those princess cut diamond ring from Tiffany & Co. but dunno the price range..

I’m trying to choose between 2 diamond princess cut solitaire rings online, and its hard to tell if the 1/4 is noticably any bigger just by the pics. Should I spend the extra 0 on it, or go with the 1/5?

I was looking at both 1 carat round and princess-cut rings on bluenile.com and to my surprise the round ones were much more expensive (when you pick your own diamond, not pre-set). When I looked at the sample photo that was suppose to be the "actual size" the princess looked smaller. I remember hearing princess-cut looks bigger than round. Is that true? Which appears bigger and which, in your opinion, is a better choice? Any preference on settings, too?

Okay, the time has come and I want to pop the question. How the hell do I get started finding a ring? I know she wants a princess cut diamond but thats it. I don’t know anything about diamonds and any info would be appreciated. Anyone know good places to go? not to go? things to watch out for? My budget will be somewhere between 2k-4k. Thanks

Okay I have one more question. Can anybody think of a way to find her ring size out? she doesn’t even own any rings so i can’t steal one and take it with me.

I am looking to purchase a ring for a wedding proposal and I thought this ring looks gorgeous and was just wondering how much will it cost? I understand it varies on the diamond but a range would be most helpful.

Which diamond cut would you want for your engagement ring? I like the elegance of the Princess cut but I seem to think lots of women get the round cut. Am I wrong?
I read that the biggest factors, in this order are: cut, color, clarity

Is there much difference between a D & E, or IF to VVWS2?

Would you care about the quality of the diamond to such minute details? Would it only matter to gemologists or knowing that I got her the best ring is important?
I keep adding on.. should I really buy from a store or is ordering from a reputable online jeweller just as good. Only problem is I can’t actually see it.

Last point… white gold or platinum? Will platinum steal too much of the show?

It is A diamond broker and my father knows him so for the most part I trust him…. Not a fancy store but you can get the most for your money…. as far as size goes I think that a .82 looked plenty big..I would rather have a clear stone than a large low quality stone. As for one of the answers on the J color, I am mounting it in a thin tiffany style white gold band, do you think this will turn out OK? if this is my price range is this the way to go?

I know rectangle is not as in demand but is it of less value? Should I buy rectangle if the ring I bought fits it better than a square? Do you grade it the same, etc?

I have the option of exchanging the round stone for a princess cut, but I will be going from a 2 ct to a 1.5 ct which is really no big deal. Do you like the round or do you think a princess will look better? My heart was always set on a princess, my fiance likes the round, but he said it is totally up to me. I dont know which one…….

Just a side note. I am not disappointed at all! I love this ring, and the more I read, the more I really am falling in love with it. I had just always wanted a princess cut, and Eric knew this, which is why he said from the beginning "i really liked this one when i saw it, but if you really want a princess cut, we will go get it" I havent said either way, but I think I will end up sticking with this one.

My husband initially proposed to me with a .50 diamond princess cut ring he gave me specs as well as told me what he paid for it. I asked him for the certificate several times, he told me he could not find it. I looked in his wallet one day and there it was the certificate, I smiled at him and show’d him the certificate, he looked as if a ghost grabbed his nuts. I looked at the certificate and the only thing he told the truth about was the color. I was disappointed in him that he lied, I asked was there anything else I should know. That was four years ago. We recently went to trade in the diamond as I associated it lies, when the lady asked him how much he paid, I told her what he told me (not knowing) and she said went and got the receipt from the computer,felt like an ass that too was a lie.

well I don’t feel lying to your fiance is worth saving money. I do feel that If I would have been told the truth I would have been less likely to hate the ring. But, that was the history, I got a new ring, (My husband initially promised a 3 carat ring, he makes great money, but that is beside the point, I don’t want to wear it on my finger) I love him but would never lie to him.

My friend has a princess cut engagement ring that has 4 stones together that create a "solitaire". What are rings like this called if I am trying to find them on the internet? I tried "4 stone ring" but that didn’t seem to be right. I guess they are probably cheaper than a real solitaire diamond but give the same effect.
I guess I didnt explain it well. They are 4 smaller diamonds grouped together to give the impression that it is a larger 1 stone solitare.
Also…any idea where I can find them, online or stores? I am cant seem to find them online

1.5 ct, the color is F, the clarity is VS2, and the cut is Very Good. It is a princess cut diamond in a 14k white gold band. Just wondering how much I should spend on it. Thanks

Hi, me and my fiance found these 2 rings and we dont know which is better , the 1 ring is 2.89 carats H/VVS comes in 0.07 size a piece all the ring is in round diamonds and in 3 raws, the 2nd ring is 2 carats F-G/VS1 have center 4 piece = 1 carat princess cut diamond that look like a solitare and other carat is divided on the sides which are combined with round and princess cut diamonds.

Hi, can anyone please tell me your oppinion on the CENTRE Princess cut diamond size – what size would look really nice in this setting with a D colour and VS1 clarity.

Mine is princess because it is so elegant and round cut is just so common everywhere I go mall, college, work I see the same round cut it’s just so boring and plain.
